"Crabtree Bridge" - Original 16" x 20", Oil on Canvas
| -These-Crabtree Bridge over the Tye River in Virginia
Nestled within the historical Blue Ridge Mountains, at the base of Crabtree Falls, one finds the Tye River meandering through the hills and valleys of central Virginia. The laminated, arched wooden bridge which vaults visitors over the Tye River was shipped from New York in 1978 and was placed by a crane in one piece. It used to be the path leading to the base of the falls until a new access road bypassed the bridge in early 2000's. Thought to have been named after William Crabtree in 1777, Crabtree Falls is a series of cascades and waterfalls with an overall descent between 1,000 and 1,200 feet. "Crabtree Bridge" captures the colour and serenity of adventurous trails and meandering waters through the mountains of Virginia. Enjoy this serenity within your own atmosphere. Purchasing
